The 3rd Edition presents extremely important issues about elderly people. Firstly, approximately 47 million adult Americans are probably Pre-Alzheimer's - they have no symptoms clinically. Fortunately, many of those Pre-Alzheimer's people never develop dementia, but some do. As of yet, treatments are limited. Secondly, the MIND diet is described. The diet provides the brain with the necessary food to minimize the chances of Alzheimer's dementia. Finally, the elderly and Alzheimer's patients suffer greatly from excessive medications, compulsive gambling, alcohol, marijuana, and opium abuse, and most recently, from the coronavirus (CO-VID-19) Pandemic.
