"I can't believe it's finally here! Tryouts are on Saturday!" Mia exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement. "I've been practicing my shortstop moves every day after school. I'm going to be the best player on the team this year!" Sarah laughed; her tone playful yet dynamic. "You know you're the best shortstop, Mia! I'm just hoping I don't trip over my own feet at first base again. I swear, one of these days, I'm going to catch a fly ball without falling on my butt!" Mia smirked, nudging Sarah playfully with her elbow. "You'll be fine! Just remember what Coach always says: 'Keep your eye on the ball!' And if you do fall, at least you'll be doing what you love." As they walked, they chatted about their favorite players on the Houston Astros, recalling the thrilling moments from last season. Mia's voice rose in excitement as she recounted the game where the Astros had made a stunning comeback in the ninth inning. "And remember when Altuve hit that home run? I swear I almost cried! It was like magic! I can't wait to see them this season!" "Magic?" Sarah teased, adjusting the strap of her backpack. "More like pure skill! But yeah, it was awesome. I just hope we get some new girls on the team this year. I heard a couple of girls from the middle school are trying out. Do you think they'll be as good as us?"
