, suggests journals to develop one's belletristic DNA. Professor Fiske shows through analysis of eleven of his own journals, which he started when he was just 14, that one's writing grows and changes over time, and with experience. Along with unedited excerpts from those journals and commentary, exercises at the end of each chapter give instructors new ways to encourage students to write (something every day).
