Windy Hill
is a book of many stories about my life and my family. It tells of: - a girl, born a "bastard" in a small town, yet who managed to go through life not dwelling on being a victim. - a lifelong search for a real father and his approval. - a young woman who finally met the "right man." - a family with five daughters and two sons willing to take unbelievable risks. - an extended family, who opened their home to over two hundred kids-without public funding, but with the help of a friendly doctor, free lawyers, and the Good Lord. - a father who quit his job to follow his dream and made that dream-the American dream-come true. - and the struggles of a woman who forayed into politics, and who constantly wrestled with an unyielding bureaucracy. These stories are shared because I believe the life lessons I have learned might be helpful to others.
