Whether you're planning a Homebirth or at a Birth Center, you want to know what you can do if you transfer to hospital. Up to now most people felt they had little options. However when you have great birth and birth coaching skills then you just continue using them. Mothers always birth better when they are skilled and fathers/others always know how-to birth coach better when they too are skilled. Whether you birth at home or at a Birth Center or in hospital your skills will always lead you to 'birth better' even if you don't have a 'better birth'. You got pregnant to have a baby not a 'type' of birth. While you might grieve that your home birth or Birth Center birth turned into a hospital birth, what will you really look back on? Once you own your birth and birth coaching skills you're more likely to look back on what you 'did' rather than what 'happened' to you or around you.
