“My life has been staring contest ever since I could remember. My eyes have been fixated on the future, what’s in front of me. I promised myself that the past would stay in the past because let’s face it, as my dad once told me: 'Life doesn’t have a rearview mirror.' This very moment is the first time I’ve blinked because my past is standing in front of me after years of leaving it behind at this very spot. I've lost the game I have been winning for so long.” Eden Rose thought she had her whole life figured out. If perfection was attainable, she thought she had it wrapped around her finger. We all know it's not and it took a glimpse into her past for Eden to realize this. After years of avoiding her hometown, Eden finally returns for Thanksgiving. Here she is faced with a past that she thought she had left behind and forgotten. She is forced to reevaluate her not-so-perfect life and what love means to her.
