In What Does Russia Want from Africa? Interrogating Russia's Re-awakened Interest in Africa, Jideofor Adibe, a Professor of Political Science and newspaper columnist, x-rays the historical relations between Russia and Africa. The book, which was the Inaugural Lecture he presented to Nasarawa State University Keffi on October 30, 2024, discusses the emergence of Vladmir Putin as Russia's President, the country's quest to resurge power onto the global scene under his leadership and the reasons Russia wants a closer relationship with Africa. He also examines the two Russo-Africa Summits, the Russo-Ukraine War and the latter's implications for Africa, as well as the Russian private military company, WAGNER, including its likely fate in Africa after the death of its leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin. In a postscript, he discusses the likely impact of the election of Donald Trump as America's 47th President on the trajectory of the Russo-Ukraine War, and on Africa._______________________________
