To say that George Bernard Shaw's little volume originally came from that source is at once to proclaim its perfection in every detail of binding and printing. There is, however, no necessity to commend the printer for lack of reason to praise the author, nor the fact that it exists as an e-book today. In this illustrated edition, Shaw has given us a "preachment." He advocates going to church in his unconventional, unorthodox, thoroughly fascinating style. He has tried the experiment (in connection with a bicycle, too) and assures us that it is the only substitute for the fierceness, the passion, the drinks and drugs of our modern civilization. Yet we are told that the author is, to put it mildly, no admirer of St. Athanasius, and believes that salvation depends on redemption from belief in miracles. Altogether, if all "preachments" were as clever, as thoughtful, as attractive as Shaw's, there would be no lack of audiences to listen.
