Grace needs to escape. Her narcissistic mother's constant complaints are suffocating, but she is trapped. Until, in a moment of desperation, she discovers she can use her imagination to slip into other worlds. Each is completely different from the last; some are terrifying, filled with monsters intent on tearing her apart, but others, Grace wishes she could stay in forever.
Soon, she meets a grizzly treasure hunter, Mitch, with a history of rescuing strays. He takes Grace under his wing, allowing her to accompany him on his search for a mysterious, long-lost artefact. From then on, Grace lives a double life, splitting her time between her mundane reality, where she is just a normal teenager, and the exhilarating new world she has created, where she travels with Mitch and slowly discovers more about the shadowy world he is involved in, as well as those hunting them both down.
However, Grace soon realises her daydreams are starting to feel more and more real, and the line between imagination and reality begins to blur...
