This book is the first part of a two-part story, the conclusion of which will occupy the next volume. As the story begins, Teddy has a strong sense that an adventure is coming his way, and the adventure will be a road trip in a car. He shares this idea with his friends, PJ and Charlie Dog who remind Teddy that he does not own a car. Mr. Bear and Mr. Lion help him to identify a car that is owned by Mr. Bunny Rabbit who bought the car from Mr. Lion but has never driven it. To earn the money to buy the car Teddy gets a job working on Mr. Billy Goat's farm; Mr. Lion teaches him to drive the car and he passes the license examination with flying colors
