God has graciously given the church gifted men to feed, guide, and protect His people-to equip the saints, build up the body of Christ, and lead her toward spiritual maturity. Through their faithful ministry, the church is anchored in truth and guarded against deception.
Yet in many places, the high calling of the pastor has been diminished. Qualifications are watered down, biblical responsibilities are neglected, and the role is reshaped to suit personal ambitions. Some claim the title of evangelist while advancing sacramental traditions. Others gain followers and wealth but lack the character and integrity that Scripture demands. Still others stand behind pulpits to deliver lectures rather than preach the Word with conviction.
In light of these distortions, this book aims to recover a biblical vision of the pastoral office-one that honors God by presenting a faithful, scripturally grounded portrait of the man called to shepherd Christ's church.
