A sweeping story of tangled passion and courage, The Maven Trap seamlessly weaves together the lives of several of characters. Lionel Robbins is the intelligent but spoiled son of an indulgent mother. Early in life, he receives an unexpected inheritance which not only alters his life but many others. Lionel is an idealist who believes primarily in the will of people, and lives by the mantra "all or nothing". To make compromises is therefore difficult, or by his moral standards questionable at best. His visions are great, but his judgment of others is often harsh and unfair. The Maven Trap is a meditation on love---love as a tragic, incomprehensible and unpredictable force of nature.
