gave up some of their most intense material on their sixth album, 1990's
The Massacre
. The release marked a distinct change, from the more dyed-in-the-wool traditional punk rock sound of their earlier work to a crossover sound that incorporated thrashier guitar playing and a more metallic edge overall. The result was one of their most commercially successful albums ever, with brutal and blunt jaunts like "Fuck Religion," "Now I'm Dead," and "Police Shit." ~ Fred Thomas
