After surviving the dangers of the land beyond the Forbidden Sea, Dyyn, the last Elf, and his Human friends, Tarl and Bria, journey homeward, seeking peace and rest. Ominously, a violent storm at sea separates their three ships and sets them on different paths toward adventures that will challenge each of them. Dyyn finds himself shipwrecked on an unknown coast where he must struggle against a relentless foe; Tarl, aboard a crippled and becalmed ship, faces an uncertain fate; and Bria, rescued as her ship sinks beneath her, falls into the hands of her most hated enemy. Only by uniting once again can they hope to overcome the forces that wait to engulf them and destroy all that they cherish. But their reunion seems impossible. War looms, threatening their lives and testing their courage, more than ever before.
