While watching her kitten, Snow Mittens, sleep, little Penelope Ellerbee is hoping to find an adventure for the day. She imagines how nice it would be to fly with the birds, bees, and butterflies. She decides that would be a good way to spend the day. Penelope closes her eyes, and she sees herself soaring high amid the clouds, the sun, and the sky. Soon, she is busy as a bee making a variety of new friends in her world. A picture book for children, The Imaginative Adventures of Penelope Ellerbee shares the story of how one little girls imagination transformed her into a bee and gave her wings. It shows that no matter what time or even the day, your imagination can always take you away.
