If someone is not ready to try something new, it would be a waste of time to force this new experience upon someone. Rather, it is more beneficial to wait until one is ready to try a new experience. Only then will it be appreciated and meaningful.
The book also goes into the power of empathy using a strategy called NVC which is non violent communication to look into the feelings and needs of each person and work together constructively to make progress.
