1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
ابتدا میں کلام تھا، اور کلام خدا کے ساتھ تھا، اور کلام خدا تھا۔
1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
خدا کے ساتھ شروع میں بھی ایسا ہی تھا۔
1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
سب چیزیں اُس نے بنائی تھیں۔ اور اس کے بغیر کوئی چیز نہیں بنی جو بنائی گئی تھی۔
1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
اُس میں زندگی تھی۔ اور زندگی انسانوں کی روشنی تھی۔
1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
اور روشنی اندھیرے میں چمکتی ہے۔ اور اندھیرے نے اسے نہیں سمجھا۔
1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
خدا کی طرف سے ایک آدمی بھیجا گیا جس کا نام یوحنا تھا۔
1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
وہی ایک گواہ کے لیے آیا، روشنی کی گواہی دینے کے لیے، تاکہ سب لوگ اُس کے ذریعے سے ایمان لائیں۔
1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
وہ وہ نور نہیں تھا بلکہ اس نور کی گواہی دینے کے لیے بھیجا گیا تھا۔
