The Final Deception is the second book in the popular Quay Thompson series. When BCA Detective Quay Thompson arrives to investigate a murder at a Twin Cities highway rest area, he receives a frantic call from a woman suspected of being involved in a previous case. Sunni Hyun had eluded capture for several months. Now, in a surprise twist, Sunni Hyun has called the BCA detective with a plea for help and protection. Hyun claims to have stolen vital genome research data from the Cameron BioTech labs in the Twin Cities where she had previously worked. A North Korean group is using tracking devices to locate Sunni and capture the research data for their government use and world dominance. With Hyun in custody, Thompson and his partner Samantha Atwood think they have things under control, but their lives are turned upside down when the North Korean group attacks them at a safe house in Southern Minnesota. Sunni's dog Chip, a young golden retriever, becomes an important player as the BCA team is pulled deeper into the world of futuristic genome research, international espionage, theft, and murder. A winter setting in Minnesota provides the backdrop for the suspense, surprises, and page-turning action of The Final Deception.
