We're imaginary monsters, and for good or for bad, there is always an army of us helping you to navigate your day.
Because people confuse what we do with natural occurrences, we rarely get credit for our hard work. What everyone believes to be the noises they hear in the dead of night they've always attributed to the house settling or air in the radiator is actually our many unseen hands working overtime. Even though we are grossly overworked and underpaid, we still hide your keys, steal your socks, and sleep under your child's bed as a public service.
Imaginary monsters are a proud bunch, and we're tired of being anonymous. We all have names, designated areas, and specialized jobs, many requiring at least a four-year
degree. We only hide because we're more afraid of you than you are of us. And if you looked like us, you'd hide in dark places, too.
Sometimes, we may be mischievous, but we've never harmed a soul.
All we ask is that you have the courtesy of addressing us by name and recognize us for our role in your daily lives. And please keep the screaming to a minimum. After
all, we get scared, too.
People and imaginary monsters need to coexist peacefully. And you never know; someday, you might even grow to like us.
