The title of this book is based on the fairytale, The Emperor's New Clothes, which follows an emperor who parades around in what he thinks, is extravagant clothes, but in truth he isn't wearing any at all. All of his subjects either truly believes he is wearing clothes or pretending to believe so, until an innocent little boy cries: "The emperor is naked!" thus ending the illusion.
