When US Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert Johnson is suddenly summoned to a high-level meeting at the White House, not even his commanding officer at the Pentagon can tell him what it's all about. Robert suspects it has to do with a recent report he filed on North Korean missile capabilities, but he walks into the office of the National Security Advisor feeling very much in the dark.Soon Colonel Johnson finds himself in places he never thought he'd be - reassigned to the White House, one day he's making recommendations to the President in the White House Situation Room, and another day he's dodging enemy patrols on a snowy hillside in North Korea. He considers himself lucky, though, to have been assigned to work quite closely with the enchanting Dr. Vivian O'Brien, a supervisor and one of the most gifted analysts of surveillance imagery at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). In this world of political maneuvering, FBI investigations, international intrigue, Navy SEALs, Army snipers, and top secret missions, it's imperative that Robert remains focused on the task at hand, not only for the sake of his own career, but for the sake of national security. However, he's finding that Dr. O'Brien is making it difficult for him to concentrate!
