Author, Julie Venables, has written a charming, touching, yet important book for children. The unlikely hero is a small donkey named Jasper, who became integral to the story of Jesus, the Messiah and His triumphal entry into Jerusalem only days before the crucifixion. Below is the author's personal note to children about this special book destined to become a classic."God has a special plan for Jasper, the donkey. As you read this wonderful story remember you, too, are special to Jesus. He knows your name. Finding out what God has for each one of us is the most exciting part of life's adventure. Jasper had things to learn so he would be ready for the day he carried the King! Even though Jasper felt small and insignificant, he came to realize that his life was unique. His early years were a preparation for the wonderful time when he would become useful to Jesus, the King of Kings. Jasper learns, among other things, that God looks at our hearts more than our outward appearance." - Julie Venables
