The Clock Chronicle is prompted by a love of history, religion, stories, and the magic found in folktales. This novel is an exciting three-century journey touching on the Enlightenment Period and European, Middle East, and American history through the twentieth century. The Chronicle will also touch upon the Medieval Period and two ancient Orders, the Knight Templars and the Illuminati, whose histories have a bearing on this journey. An invention by Christiaan Huygens in mid-seventeenth century Netherlands, a pendulum clock, was fantastic science for its time and ultimately led to the discovery of a concept long sought by world monarchs and rulers who were willing to pay handsomely for its discovery. Although fiction, The Clock Chronicle remains faithful to major historical events. Its fictional characteristic is the notion of anthropomorphism; giving human characteristics to a non-human object.With the first perfect swing of Huygens' pendulum, Clock, as it comes to be known, springs to a naive consciousness with a sentience limited to hearing, seeing, learning, and thinking.
