The Boy Scouts on the Trail OR Scouting Through the Big Game Country is a gripping wilderness adventure packed with mystery, outdoor exploration, and the spirit of camaraderie. In this classic Herbert Carter tale, the Silver Fox Patrol travels deep into the forests of Maine for what begins as a simple scouting expedition—but soon turns into a high-stakes journey filled with danger and discovery. Thad, Bumpus, Giraffe, and their fellow scouts encounter much more than wildlife: puzzling footprints, a sheriff's posse on the hunt, a mysterious hairy honey thief, and even a hidden criminal trail marked by a suspicious dummy packet. From The Birch Bark Challenge to the eerie A Face in the Window and the thrilling The Sheriff Gets His Shock, every chapter adds new suspense and life lessons rooted in Boy Scout principles. This is not just a story of survival—its a story of growing up, solving mysteries with limited resources, and relying on courage, cleverness, and friendship. As the scouts use their woodcraft and wit to assist law enforcement and uncover secrets of the wild, young readers are treated to a page-turning journey that blends classic values with genuine excitement. A perfect read for middle graders, outdoor lovers, and young adventurers alike.
