Medlar Archer is certain she is dying, but she is not dying she is falling. She is plummeting from her world into the world of the magi. The beautiful and arrogant high lord Eleusis is not happy to see Medlar when she falls unconscious into his arms. Tormented by a prediction which assures the destruction of his world, Eleusis realises with horror that her presence has triggered the start of the prophecy. The hideous Black Crow and her entourage of death are coming to claim them all. Eleusis and his good friend Callac know they need to find a way to destroy this dark monstrosity. Can Medlar be the key to assist them to victory or is she the very instrument that assures their destruction? Callac soon realises Medlar is not the person that they all think she is. He wants to save her from her nightmares, he wants to reach out and hold her. But she is moving away from him, she is moving away from them all. Each will face their own personal demons before they can fight, but all must ultimately stand before the Crow.
