does contain some of
the Smiths
very best songs --
"The Boy With the Thorn in His Side,"
"Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now,"
"Bigmouth Strikes Again,"
"Reel Around the Fountain,"
"There Is a Light That Never Goes Out,"
among others. Even so, it doesn't work as its own record since it deliberately complements the first volume, which itself wasn't a great overview of
' best. Since these two comps were released, better collections like
Singles
and
The Very Best of the Smiths
have been released, supplanting these two botched efforts.
