Dementia is a pesky little disease. Initially, there is a slight hint of forgetfulness, not very noticeable, just annoying. Where are my glasses? (on top of my head). Where did I put my keys? (they're in my hands). Things like that can be pretty normal, right? I mean we all do it from time to time. Life can be quite distracting, stressful and at times, downright unnerving! So, it's understandable that we get unraveled. But what if the forgetfulness intensifies?
This is a story of one woman's spiraling journey into the abyss of dementia. Alzheimer's to be exact. From a hint of forgetfulness and repeated stories, to the deepest, darkest void of a disease from which there was no return. This is Georgianna's story. She was my mother.
