The Anvil's Passion is a memoir of my life as told from the front steps of the houses I have lived in. With the tragic background of my mother's early trauma and the presence of sailors on both sides, my early life in Connecticut gave me an appreciation for the sea and a sense of psychological issues. My family was comprised of Greeks on the one hand and stoic New Englanders on the other. My parents separated and had a tumultuous marriage at times. However, the book goes through my dealing with this and the ways I coped and endured. Leaving home for college brought new challenges and eventually a relationship that felt real and sufficient. Eventually culminating in a Ph.D., I enjoyed a career providing therapy. With God often nearby, I stunned my wife by converting to Catholicism. Later I was ordained a deacon. Our family of three children is strongly present with numerous stories of the highs and lows of family life. The book closes with a return to the east coast from Indiana. Throughout the book, the sound of the anvil makes known God's presence.
