One hoop, one shooter, and 82 in of vertical cage: this arcade machine is built around solo practice, which is why it takes up only 24.5 in of width and still delivers a full-height shooting experience. The MDF backboard is thick enough to absorb repeated hits from the three 7-in basketballs that come in the box, and the metal rim measures 12 in across for a realistic release point. Scores register on an electronic display powered by three AA batteries, not included, so shooting rounds can be timed and compared instead of guessed at. A polyester fabric mesh fence runs up both sides of the frame and stops balls from bouncing away between attempts, while the ball return ramp, sewn from tear-resistant Oxford, guides every miss and make back down to the player without a walk to retrieve it. The whole structure is built from high-quality steel that keeps the 25-lb machine stable through fast repeat shooting, and the 82-in by 24.5-in footprint narrows to 35 in by 24.5 in once folded, small enough to stand beside a bookshelf. An inflation pump is included so the balls can be topped off before play, and detailed instructions make the components straightforward to put together. The narrow single-shot layout suits solo use, and it works just as well as a party game or an attraction at a family gathering.
