Beneath the 8 mm tempered glass top of this 35" round coffee table sits a cross-shaped wooden base with a hollow 11" x 11" x 15" compartment inside it, hidden storage for remotes, magazines and snacks. The glass resists heat and scratches, wipes clean, and rests on anti-skid pads so it stays centered on the frame; the whole table is rated for 220 lbs. The base is rubber wood, plywood and MDF in a dark rustic oak grain of a near-black tone, with rounded edges and non-slip foot pads. At 18" tall and 55 lbs it stays put in front of a sofa or in the middle of a seating circle. Assembly is required, and a user manual is included. The tic-tac-toe pattern of the base shows through the glass and gives the table its character.
