A wall-mounted spool rack that holds four reels on removable rods, so wire, cable, ribbon, yarn or heat shrink tubing pays out cleanly instead of tangling on the floor. Each rod carries a maximum load of 65 lbs, which is enough for a full commercial reel rather than only for light domestic spools, and the rods lift out individually so an empty reel is swapped in seconds without dismantling anything else. Deep slots hold each rod securely in position, and that depth is what stops a rod jumping out of its seat when a reel is pulled hard or a spool is dropped into place. Spacing between the rods is 6.7-in and each rod is 0.6-in in diameter, dimensions worth checking against the reels on hand before ordering, since spool bore and flange width decide what will actually fit. The frame is metal with a galvanized, rustproof surface, standing 26-in by 6-in by 36.5-in at a 16.5-lb frame weight, and that galvanized coating is what keeps the rack from staining a reel of pale ribbon or yarn with rust after a damp winter. Mounting to the wall is the whole point of the design, since it lifts four reels clear of the floor and hands back the space they were occupying.
