The traditional Adirondack shape without the traditional upkeep. A cedar or pine version of this chair wants staining every year or two and still greys out; this one is moulded from all-weather PE, so it stays where it is left through rain, sun and frost and asks for nothing beyond water and a little soap when it gets grubby. Nothing needs sealing, oiling or sanding back. The plastic itself is fade resistant rather than merely painted, so a full summer of direct sun does not wash the color out, and every fastener is 304 stainless steel, which is the detail that usually decides how a piece of outdoor furniture ages, since ordinary screws bleed rust down the frame within a season. Structurally it carries up to 330 lb, measures 34-in by 31-in by 37-in and weighs 33 lb, heavy enough that a gust will not tip it over but light enough to reposition with one hand. The seat is contoured and the back is slanted at the angle the design is known for, which puts you into the half-reclined position that makes these chairs hard to get out of, and a cup holder is built directly into the arm so a drink has somewhere to go. Seat height is 16-in, low enough to sit comfortably around an outdoor fire pit, and the chair suits a porch, patio, poolside, backyard or beach equally. If a different color is wanted later, the surface takes paint. Assembly is straightforward.
