The panel is drilled and finished as a universal top, so it mounts to a standard fixed desk frame and equally to a height adjustable frame, which makes it a straightforward way to widen a cramped setup or refresh a base that still works. Capacity is the number that matters on a bare top. Thickened engineered wood carries up to 200 lbs, or 90 kg, spread across the surface, and that rating leaves plenty of headroom for two monitors, a lamp, a stack of books and the accessories that normally crowd the edges. Spread across 55-in of width, the same area also gives real room to write beside a screen instead of in front of it. Two cable management holes are cut into the panel. Power leads and data cables drop straight through them to the frame below, so wires stay organized and the top stays clutter free rather than collecting a tangle along the back edge. The corners are rounded rather than square, which removes the sharp edge that catches hips and sleeves in a tight walkway and keeps the finish from chipping. The surface itself wipes clean and needs minimal maintenance. At 26.5 lbs, or 12 kg, the top is light enough for one person to lift into place, and no assembly is required beyond fastening it to the frame. Finishes are offered in black, white and walnut, and the package contains one tabletop. Beyond a desk it also serves as a bar table, a workbench or a countertop.
