State of the Union 2025 was inspired by the status of the United States of America following the controversial candidates, campaigns, and elections in 2024; and the climate and emotions amongst the people that resulted from them. The poems in this collection were written to be thought-provoking, conversation eliciting, and at times satirical. Although they are inspired by real life situations, the poems are not written to be a factual depiction of any real person or persons.
