2163. Humans have been traveling to the stars for nearly fifty years and in that time have discovered that Martians did indeed, inhabit Earth's neighbor. Following clues left by the ancient Martians, the starship Saratoga suffers a two-fold terrorist attack in orbit of the Planet Theia and is severely damaged. With her Captain injured, XO Christopher Edison takes command and through all of his experience, manages to bring the ship home.
Edison is promoted to Captain and given command of the Union's newest and largest starship built to date: Olympia. Before the commissioning ceremony is over, word is received that the starship Apollo commanded by Edison's brother, has been attacked in uncharted space by an unknown force while following clues to the Martian's current location. Accompanied by his father, the Commodore, Edison takes command of his new ship to investigate only to discover his brothers ship a burning wreck, its crew abducted and few clues to go on.
Now, he must assume Apollo's mission, try to determine the fate of Apollo's crew and determine who is responsible for the cowardly attack. Could it be the Martians or some new and unknown threat? Olympia's first mission is fraught with danger and uncertainty as her new Captain and crew attempt to find answers and must face a terrorist conspiracy and an unknown enemy more deadly than anything they have ever encountered before.
