While on a diplomatic mission for her mother, The Queen of Liu, Princess Rianna's convoy is ambushed by bandits but is saved by a mysterious thirteen-year-old boy named Duo. In gratitude for his help, Rianna takes him back home to the palace and the queen makes him a member of her Royal Guard.
