She would wait until she was alone, away from the prying eyes of family members, friends and fellow Christians. It was something she would regret doing each day, but couldn't push herself to kick the habit. For Becky Cantrell, smoking cigarettes was, at first, a way to gain her father's approval and love, as he was also a smoker. Years later, smoking became a "dirty little secret" that Becky kept in check through changing clothes up to four times a day and never inviting visitors to her house, or into her car, unannounced. Then, a turning point occurred that begins Becky's autobiography, "Smokin' Hot Christian", which describes her heartfelt prayer to Jesus to use whatever means necessary to stop, once and for all, her addictive habit. Yet her prayer to Jesus, and His answer through smoking cessation, was just one of the many instances in Becky's life when God bestowed grace and healing to her during life's trials. Becky felt God's presence as she handled the tragic death of her young teenage daughter Kerri from a car accident and, later, the unexpected passing of her third husband. She also found solace during her two divorces and while combating health issues stemming from her tobacco habit. Her strength to go forward again from these heartbreaking losses allowed Becky to find new purpose as the mother of her Marine son and devoted grandmother to her five grandsons, as well as loving wife to husband Keith. Her desire to quit smoking, and realize again her body was a temple for God, was another miracle the Heavenly Father performed to encourage Becky's faith and show that trials are to present opportunities for His help to overcome temptations to sin, or to provide escapes to sin no more.
