Benjamin “Bird” Dunavin’s world has been turned upside down. His single mother has started a new job, moved them to a new house and he’s going to a new school. The worst thing about the move was leaving his baseball team.
Baseball and being on a team mean everything to Bird. There’s a tryout for the team at his new school, but his mother doesn’t want him to play. She hates the game that she calls a “murderer.” Bird loves his mother, but baseball feels like its part of his DNA.
