Luck has never been on Lyric's side. After surviving a fatal car accident, she thinks her luck is finally changing. Unfortunately, it doesn't take long for the near-death experiences to occur again and again, looking different every time. Left to her own devices she's a ticking time bomb, until a mysterious stranger begins to appear just in time to save her. She knows she should be afraid of this stranger, but something within her stirs in recognition. Their bond has already been established, but their relationship is awkward, at best. When the stranger lets down his guard, Lyric's feelings towards him deepen; with him under strict orders to stay away from her, their continued communication tempts the most severe punishment of all: death.
