The primary purpose of this study was to add Ron and Beverly Bailey to the list of adult educators. They also used their entrepreneurial skills to finance college-level self-improvement programs, scholarships for adult learners and hire the faculty and staff needed to launch asynchronous and synchronous online degree programs. The online effort required an extensive internal and external capital investment. Internally, the computer labs and classrooms required an overhaul, and servers required reconfiguration to ensure seamless connectivity throughout the region. Externally, strategic partnerships were necessary to connect the college's campuses with the students' home computers
