Detective Lee Burton was sitting in his car at a warehouse waiting for back up. According to his C.I. a drug deal was going to go down at seven P.M.
He was finishing off the last of his black coffee, when all hell broke loose. The warehouse erupted in gunfire. He couldn't wait for back up.
Detective Lee Burton violently swung the door of his Crown Vic open. He ran to the warehouse and entered through the side door. Drug dealers and drug buyers had shot it out. By the time Detective Burton arrived, only the drug dealers had survived. When they noticed him they all turned and opened fire on him. He returned fire from his service weapon. The drug dealers fired again. Detective Burton went down.
The drug dealers ran to check him out. Upon noticing he had taken five bullets to the chest, they left him for dead.
Shortly after his back up arrived, with sirens blaring and lights flashing. When they found Detective Burton lying on the floor they immediately called for an ambulance. One of the police cars drove in front of the ambulance to clear the way. Hospital staff meet them at the emergency door. They raced Detective Burton inside and into the prepared OR. Everyone was running frantically. Machines were hooked up. Doctors and nurses were working feverishly on him, trying to save his life. Ten minutes into the operation Detective Lee Burton died from his gunshot wounds. You won't believe what happens next.
