The Adventures of Violet and Woodruff - Rainy Day Rascals is an illustrated children's book about two bears and their dog who are bored on a rainy day. Violet is inspired to encourage her brother Woodruff to go out in the rain. First they must get ready for going out in the rain, with the appropriate clothing. As Violet is younger, she needs help putting on her boots and raincoat, which their dog Chalky helps her with. Woody knows how to put his boots and raincoat properly as he is a bit older. The three go out in the rain and jump in muddy puddles. Once all dirty, they return home to get clean, seeing a rainbow on the way home. The educational content of the story is that siblings are a different age, where the older one is more able to complete tasks that the younger. There is an element of interaction where the reader is asked questions in regards to what is happening in the story.
