Phyllis is a sad and lonely girl who has just moved to a new town and doesn't have any friends when she starts writing in a diary that she calls Louise. Louise chronicles Phyllis's life as she starts to make friends and learn about life. Excerpt:"...for I am fifteen years old, and fifteen are a good many years to live lonely.
