English summary:The phenomenon of medieval addenda to the so-called courtly epics of the classical period from around 1200, still poses significant problems of interpretation and evaluation within the field of literary studies. Especially with regard to their specific methodical function these addenda have not yet been mastered. This study looks at such addenda as evidence of the productive reception of their reference texts and develops a systematic method of analysis which relies on a reception, communication and narrative theory based approach which is geared to medieval conditions of reception. This makes possible a differentiated and value-neutral examination of medieval addenda, as well as the determination of their historical relevance and their reclassification in the context of literary history. The descriptive model is illustrated based on Wolfram von Eschenbach's 'Willehalm', its prequel 'Arabel' and its sequel 'Rennewart'. German description: Das Phanomen mittelalterlicher Erganzungen zu Epen der sog. hofischen Klassik um 1200 stellt die Literaturwissenschaft bis heute vor erhebliche Deutungs- und Bewertungsprobleme. Insbesondere in ihren methodisch spezifischen Aufgaben sind die Erganzungen noch nicht bewaltigt. Die vorliegende Untersuchung fasst Erganzungen als Zeugnisse produktiver Rezeption ihres Bezugstextes auf und entwickelt ein systematisches Analyseverfahren, das sowohl einem rezeptions- als auch kommunikations- sowie erzahltheoretischen Ansatz verpflichtet ist und sich an den mittelalterlichen Rezeptionsverhaltnissen orientiert. Es ermoglicht, mittelalterliche Erganzungen differenziert und wertneutral zu untersuchen, ihre historische Relevanz zu ermitteln und sie literarhistorisch neu einzuordnen. Exemplifiziert wird das Beschreibungsmodell am 'Willehalm' Wolframs von Eschenbach, seiner Vorgeschichte 'Arabel' und seiner Fortsetzung 'Rennewart'.
