Their lifestyles caught-up with them and they found themselves searching for a way to escape the humiliation, pain, and feeling of being marooned on Hell's Island. They had pretended to love God and live for God for so long until they started to believe their own pretense. But in actuality they were practicing Religiosity, a self-gratifying relationship with God where you choose how you serve Him. When their lives shattered into broken pieces they had a choice to make -repent or remain broken.
