Located in Maidstone in Kent in the 60s and 70s and through to the early 2000s, as the town changes over the years, so does he. The town becomes unrecognisable from his youth as he progresses in his chosen profession - or is it a calling rather than a choice?
Sacrificing family, friends and the 'normal life', he turns his back on the usual course of life to master his profession - misunderstood, prejudged and covert.
