Handsome John Jensen, a young man with unusual interests sets off to a new town to find himself. His journey takes him to the rough town of Saint Louis and the more sophisticated Philadelphia where he learns many of life's lessons along the way. Finally with an idea for his future, his faith intact and a burning passion for his woman, who has some unusual talents of her own, he makes his way into maturity and back to the dark haired beauty he was meant to spend his life with. As John and Arabelle begin their exciting and non-traditional life together, they encounter a new and sometimes cruel world, responding with grace and dignity. With the support of their families they find their way back to the developing community of Eaton Creek, where they find that acceptance is a little harder to come by when it involves the community that raised you.
