Many small miracles, and a few very big ones, have come to Nikos Brown's neighborhood since he met the baby Jesus, face to face, last Christmas. Nikos has changed from a mean, angry street thug to an example of Grace, and the neighborhood has changed right along with him. Healings have happened when Nikos was there, and his simple touch has the effect of reversing anger in others. His family has become happy and cooperative. Now the neighborhood has joined together in a project to build a beautiful new homeless shelter out of an abandoned building on their street. A little couple from the San Fernando Valley has bought the building and spent their life savings for their dream. They have high hopes and very little money, to carry out their dream. Thomas, the pastor of the little church where the story began, Nikos, Mary, Angelia, Bill, Timmy, and William, join in the project. Timmy was homeless, schizophrenic, begging on the streets, and William, "Snake", was a gangster who recovered from serious gunshot from a drive-by, because Nikos held his hand. The people of the garden, most of them homeless, are brought on board, each with his own skills and experiences to offer to the project. The children keep the story fun, and several special children are added throughout the story. Each child and adult has his own touch of Grace.
