Mischief and Menace, Part Two of A Year and a Day, continues the story of Thomas Lear, who is now The Court Singer in one of the kingdoms in a place sometimes known as Faerie. Comfortable with his living arrangements and enjoying the enchantment of his lover the Queen, he is meeting some very interesting people and participating in their adventures. Finding himself, he is at last making the music he has ached to write. But outside of Thomas' insulated awareness, something uneasy and strange is growing: the Folk are about to be in serious trouble.
