En este sentido, viene a subsanar un sesgo histórico que solo permitía acceder al Shakespeare grave, sabio y sentencioso, y, sin ocultar la gran carga humorística que hay en sus obras, ofrece una imagen del autor que se ajusta al maravilloso poliedro que es el gran dramaturgo inglés.

In many ways, William Shakespeare is one of the most prolific authors in world literature. His work has produced an innumerable amount of reflections, aphorisms, thoughts of great beauty, and verses of enormous poetic strength. Ángel-Luis Pujante, a translator and scholar of Shakespeare's work, offers here a valuable selection of his most important quotes. This anthology reflects the impressive variety of registers exhibited in the works of the English bard. In this sense, it aims to correct a historical bias that only allowed access to the serious, wise, and sententious Shakespeare, and, without hiding the great humor present in his works, it offers an image of the author that fits the wonderful multifaceted nature of the great English playwright.
In this edition, each quote is accompanied by the title of the work, the act and scene from which it comes, as well as the name of the speaking character and, when convenient or necessary, a brief contextual note. With more than 400 brief quotes and 32 selected passages, the total number of Shakespeare quotes gathered here surpasses those in the few anthologies published in Spain so far.
